Kiki and Lala's Cookie
Little Twin Stars love to cook. Today, Kiki and Lala are going to make one of their favorite kinds of cookies. What kind? Well, read on and you'll find out! Why, you can even help make them!
These cookies are called "Snickerdoodles." Lala found the recipe when she was traveling down South recently, and they're just Dee-licious! Not too sweet, but with lots of flavor and just a taste of spice.
To make these little goodies, you'll first need to make sure you have all the ingredients ready.
Ingredients (Makes about 3 dozen):
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
First, shift together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Next, "cream" the butter, shortening, sugar, and eggs together in the mixer. (You can use a spoon too, but it's harder and takes longer.
Then, after you've mixed the above together really well, begin adding the sifter flour, etc. to the "wet" ingredients little by little (if you add too much at one time, you might make a mess).
Once this is all mixed together smoothly, add the vanilla and mix once more.
Set the oven at 400° F.
Mix the 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon together in a small bowl.
Roll the cookie dough into little balls about an inch in diameter (about the size of a big marble).
Roll the cookie balls in the sugar and cinnamon and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes (Kiki likes to take them out after 7 minutes because then they'll stay soft and gooey even after they're cool).
I just found this from a website and thought it was so cute. Those of you who likes baking, can experiment with these cookies =) Maybe, I'll give it a try when I have time.
