I received an email this morning regarding SARS. I know some of us have been really curious as to what SARS will do and how it can effect us. Well, if you have time tomorrow, you can tune into the following:

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This broadcast sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and supported by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will provide information on Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) reported in patients in Asia, North America, and Europe. This global broadcast will discuss the latest findings regarding the SARS outbreak and prevention of transmission in healthcare settings. The faculty will include representatives from WHO, CDC, and several affected countries who will report their experiences with SARS.

GOAL
To provide the public health and clinical communities basic information regarding the SARS outbreak and guidance to prevent transmission. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be able to:

- Describe the current outbreak of SARS
- Describe strategies to prevent transmission in hospitals and healthcare facilities
- Recognize the need for international cooperation to stop the spread of SARS

OH WOW! $5...Damn, I want to go but I probably shouldn't since I get sick so much already and it has nothing to do with going to germy places. wow!!! $5 can't believe it.

I hate how the media blows everything up and plays into people's fears. They should do a story and put SARS into perspective. From what I've read and heard it can only be transmitted via bodily fluids. Also, just because you get it doesn't mean you'll instantly die from it. It's a little tougher since there aren't antibody medicines to help you fight back, but your body still have ways of fighting back on its own. What's more frightening is the ebola virus. It breaks out in Africa a few times a year, killing hundreds, and is extremely contagious. Oh well, if one won't get you, I'm sure something else will.

I'm no doctor though so what the hell do I know. ;)
I want to go to HK now cause the plane ticket and hotel would be like $5. I don't think anybody else would want to go with me though.
